Shooting Assignment # 2
A Bird's Eye View

As of right now in my life, I am a student, an intern and a nanny at the same time. This photograph is of one of the kids I nanny for, Clara. Here, we were attempting to take off her "basketball shoes" in the mud room of her house after playing outside in the garden.

  1. This is photo really grabbed my attention in multiple areas. First of all the lighting is very interesting because we know Clara is in mud room with light coming in the window. There must be some kind of material on the window that diffused the light just a little to make the shadows not so direct. Whatever this material is it it didn't diffuse the light enough for the shadow to wrap around Clara's face but she was positioned enough to give her cute face a nice exposure. The intensity of her eyes also engulfs the audience in the innocence of a child, which was the first thing that drew me to this photo. Nice work Danielle.

  2. This is an awesome photo! Not only is she absolutely adorable :) but the composition of this photo is really nice. The view from above allows more of the background of the photo to be exposed, rather than just the main subject. I also think the lighting apropos of that angle of shooting really gives the photo a dramatic effect. Nicely done!

  3. I agree with the previous two comments about this image. The lighting is really lovely and soft, but also somewhat dramatic. Also really fun, interesting composition!
